Once upon a time, in the Kingdom of Plenty, the people used shiny silver coins called Glimmers to trade goods and services. Farmers exchanged their crops for Glimmers, bakers used them to buy flour, and children saved them to buy sweets. Everyone trusted Glimmers because they were rare and valuable.
One day, the kingdom’s rulers, the Goldenshire family, declared that Glimmers were too heavy and inconvenient. “We will replace Glimmers with Paper Promises,” they announced. These were light, easy to carry, and had numbers written on them to show their value. At first, the people were pleased.
But over time, the Goldenshire family printed more and more Paper Promises to fund their lavish lifestyle. Soon enough, prices rose and the people struggled to afford basic goods. “Why is everything so expensive?” they cried.
A wise merchant explained, “The rulers printed too many Paper Promises. There are more Paper Promises than there are things to buy. Now, each one is worth less.”
The people felt trapped.
One day, a mysterious inventor named Satoshi introduced a new form of money: Golden Seeds.
“These cannot be copied or controlled by anyone,” Satoshi said. “There will only ever be 21 million of them.”
Some people were curious. “How do we use them?”
“Golden Seeds are just like money. Every trade is recorded in the Great Ledger,” Satoshi explained. “It is shared by everyone and cannot be altered, ensuring fairness.”
At first, only a few villagers used Golden Seeds, but, because of their limited supply, they soon realised their value remained stable. In fact, anything they wanted to buy with the Golden Seeds was getting cheaper! As more people began using Golden Seeds to save up and buy things, trust in Paper Promises quickly faded. Thanks to the existence of better money, the power to print unlimited Paper Promises was removed and the Goldenshire family had to live just like everyone else, earning their keep through honest work.
The Kingdom of Plenty flourished once more as the people learned the importance of fairness, trust, and scarcity. The people in the Kingdom of plenty learned a very valuable lesson; abundance in money creates scarcity in everything else, but when money is scarce, everything else is abundant.
Satoshi was never seen again and the Golden Seeds continued to thrive in the Kingdom of Plenty, bringing prosperity and stability to the people and the land.
